Kitty stairs from The Vertical Cat for our old lady Diamond! She hasn’t quite gotten the full swing of it yet, though. She just climbed down, but instead of going from the last step to the stairs in front of her, she took a long jump to the ground. Oh well, she’s 17 years old now, and you what they say: “you can’t teach an old dog…”

Katie and Tim in South Carolina
Well, it’s been almost 2 months since Katie and Tim relocated to South Carolina. Katie is in heaven with the heat and sunshine. It took Tim a bit longer to adapt to the heat (at least he’s not setting the AC on 60 degrees anymore!) despite the fact that he went to college in Florida. Katie took this photo of Folly Beach, a 20 minute distance from their apartment:
Tim moved up very rapidly at his job, from sales clerk to top sales in a couple of weeks, to assistant manager in less than 2 months! Way to go Tim!
Katie, still recovering from her “slave days” in a cubicle, decided to work in the food industry for a while. She’s working as a waitress and a barista for now. Of course, she’s still as artistically talented as ever. Here is the bar chalkboard she drew for the restaurant:
Vin and I plan on going down at some point to visit, but after hearing about the giant-sized Palmetto bug they found in their shower, maybe not!
A nest of baby rabbits!
Quite accidentally, I found a nest of baby rabbits yesterday outside our house! Well, to be truthful, I didn’t find it first; Katie’s dog did. Right here is where the momma rabbit built her babies’ nest. What’s strange is that with all the woods around our house and neighborhood, the mom picks our yard!
I was concerned about the health of one of the babies after the dog found the nest, so I came back out today to check on him. There are at least four of them in there, and none seemed to be injured, so I am hoping he is fully recovered. Poor thing – I hope he has no memory of it!
And another shot of the nest, with a bit more of their cover removed.
From the look of them, they are only a few days old!!
We are going to keep a good eye on the nest to make sure their momma keeps coming back to take care of them. I know she was back last night based on the way the nest looked today – it was way more covered than I had left it yesterday.
